In Darfur in western Sudan there is an extinct volcano Jebel Marra. Its crater is located at an altitude of 3042 meters. The last eruption of the volcano was 4000 years ago. But even today it is not considered to be extincted and sleeping. The fact that the slopes are still present fumarole hot springs and the steam and gas come from it. Caldera Deriba is the highest point in Sudan after South Sudan has declared their independence. The diameter of the cavity is 5-8 kilometers. Inside the crater there are just 2 lakes. Around them is a white line that shows how rainwater flows down.
